Macquarie Bank update

Enhancing your security with Macquarie Authenticator

Macquarie Bank is investing in their digital security and efficiency tools to help brokers and their support staff deliver for their clients quickly and with confidence. Macquarie Authenticator is their multi-factor authorisation mobile app that helps enhance account security.

From Wednesday 12 June, when brokers and support staff log into the Broker Portal, they will receive a push notification to authenticate their login via the Macquarie Authenticator app. This security enhancement will help keep your clients’ information protected and your support staff will have real-time control to approve or deny login activity.

Support staff can download the Macquarie Authenticator app now to get ready for the change. Formore detailed instructions on logging in for the first time using Macquarie Authenticator, you can read Macquarie’s Help Centre article here.

This change will mean all support staff will need to be registered with their own login and mobile phone number (international numbers are fine) to continue using Broker Portal. There are also specific setup instructions at the link for businesses with a ‘one to many’ support staff model where one support staff team member is supporting many brokers.

Macquarie Bank has several updates planned for brokers on this change. If you would like any extra information or training to prepare for this please let them know.

Reminder about Macquarie Bank’s variable rate review process

Macquarie Bank previously communicated the changes to their variable rate review process to introduce a more efficient way for your brokers to get a variable rate review online. Macquarie Bank wants to share this reminder with you that they no longer process email requests for variable rate reviews for loans starting with a BSB of 183.

Instead, your clients can complete a variable rate review via online or mobile banking. Once the variable rate review is submitted, Macquarie Bank will let them know the outcome of their request generally within three calendar days. You can refer to their Help Centre article here for more information on variable rate reviews.
